GENERAL
Pen tool (P)
Creates curved lines

Line tool (\)
Creates straight lines. Use shift + Line tool to make perfectly straight lines or lines at 45 degree increments.

Grouping lines to make parts
Ctrl + G

Anchor points
Each line has a beginning and ending anchor point. Use (A) to grab an anchor point and stretch a line.

Snap points
Guides that help alignment between anchor points. 

Mirror/flip object
Use (V) to select entire object > Right click > Transform > Reflect

Moving lines with arrow keys
Use Direct Selection Tool (A) to draw box around lines to move.

Add anchor point
